Before shipping, I personally cut a Clean Break groove around the equator of each geode with a diamond blade — the crystal-filled center stays 100% natural and completely untouched.

How your Clean Break geode works: The pre-cut groove shows kids exactly where the geode is going to break. With adult help, set a chisel or straight-blade screwdriver into the groove, tap it with a hammer along the line, and the geode splits into clean halves — revealing the sparkling crystals inside. Because you're striking a pre-cut line instead of guessing, kids and families get a much cleaner, more controlled break than an unscored geode, without taking away any of the excitement of discovering the crystals themselves. No one can guarantee a perfect break on a natural stone — but the Clean Break method meaningfully improves the odds.
